Ribulose-1,5-bisphosphate carboxylase-oxygenase, commonly known by the abbreviations RuBisCo or rubisco, is an enzyme involved in the first major step of carbon fixation, a process by which atmospheric carbon dioxide is converted by plants and other photosynthetic organisms to energy-rich molecules such as glucose. 

The colours on this page are derived from the original emissions spectrum of Carbon as seen by an emissions graph. This represents the light emission as a function of energy for carbon, separated into its constituent colours. It is similar to how plants (and rubisco enzymes) see carbon.
